we are a grassroots movement

Emancipate Education is a people-powered movement that intends to bring conversations of anti-racism to K-12 classrooms

MEDIA

We will use the media to peel back the veil on the systemic racism that exists within our K-12 public education system. We plan to implement it as a tool to both educate the public and hold educators, decision makers, and politicians accountable for their actions.

MOBILZING

We will mobilize our school clubs, and community support across public school districts to pressure school boards to update their curriculum to be inclusive of anti-racist policies and education. Once enough public support is garnered, we will pressure the state board of education to update the common core for the entire state.

INTERSECTIONALITY

We are stronger together – which is why Emancipate Education believes we should listen and take leadership from people and communities most impacted by systematic racism. Our goal is to elevate people of color to lead the movement to success.

ORGANIZING

We plan taking sustained, strategic action that empowers activists to organize locally and build the political power needed to force elected officials to be supportive of this issue. We will raise up students, alumni, teachers, and community members of color to magnify the movement’s mission. Our main priority is to ensure that our wins are victories for all.
